Planning a round the world holiday, trying to plan my route!?

Written by: jane On January 6th, 2009
  • I'll be going by myself
    From Australia...
Places I'd like to go (maybe not this trip though, some I could do in another trip but I'm not sure!)
    Japan
    Thailand
    Alaska
    Toronto
    NYC
    Ireland
    London
Northern France (Evreux - don't know the spelling sorry)
Munich - for a couple of weeks, have family there, maybe go there for a bit and do some kind of tour and finish again in Munich
    Prague
Dubai - have family here too!

Any hints/suggestions about highlights? Places to stay? Costs?

It's still in early days of saving and planning.
I really want to go to Alaska so when it's not soo cold would be better
Also want to go to blossom festival in Japan but might do this as a separate trip another time??

  • Charlotte, if you plan it right, you can go to Alaska, then down to Toronto, hire a car do the Canadian side of Niagara, do Niagara on the lake which is so good, drive to Montreal going through places like Kingston and Cornwall on the way, Have a few days in Montreal, then you can Drive down to New York or Maine, If your able to do it, your return to see if you can go via Japan, and ask what would be the best departure airport out of the US. If not Japan head over to Munich and see your family. You have heaps of scope and room to play with, Come and join us in Montreal and enjoy the sights and tastes of the city.
