Many ppl said praying to Holy Mary and the grave of other saint is more effective than just praying to God?

In the bible, (the same one the catholics use, if they have one) in the book of Jeremiah, God (chapter 71 I recall) condemned a city/nation because they had a queen of heaven. Mary is called the queen of heaven.
Mother theresa before her death said, that salvation is not possible without mary. The bible says Jesus was slain from the foundation of the earth.
The catholics hold that mary was without sin, yet the bible has her saying that Jesus is her savior too....what was she saved from if not from sin...Jesus saves from sin, not life. and I quote, In this world you shall have tribulation but be of good cheer for I have overcome the world."
The facts are this. The bible does not support mary or anyone apart from Jesus having the power to answer prayer.
well let me notate that the bible says satan decieves, to include acting like prayer is answered.
FACT: People have been healed by believing in things other than Jesus:
that does not make God at work in them. there are lots of counterfeits.
get a little biblical knowledge of what the first century christians believe, after all they walked with Jesus or the apostles who were there with Jesus.
Mary, and the saints were not part of the prayers ever in the bible.
hope this helps
This untenable contradiction between the assertion of monotheism and the reality of polytheism was dealt with by accusing other religions of the Christian fault. The Church - Catholic and later Protestant - turned aggressively on the two most clearly monotheistic religions in view - Judaism and Islam - and persecuted them as heathen or pagan.
The external history of Christianity consists largely of accusations that other religions rely on the worship of more than one god and therefore not the true God.
These pagans (Muslims & Jews) must therefore be converted, conquered and/or killed for their own good in order that they benefit from the singularity of the Holy Trinity, plus appendages." -- The Doubter's Companion (John Ralston Saul)

God Bless
Brother Micheal is right...
"No one can say Jesus is Lord', except by the Holy Spirit" (1 Cor 12:3). The Church invites us to invoke the Holy Spirit as the interior Teacher of Christian prayer.
Because of Mary's singular cooperation with the action of the Holy Spirit, the Church loves to pray in communion with the Virgin Mary, to magnify with her the great things the Lord has done for her, and to entrust supplications and praises to her.
The doctrine of the "Communion of Saints" helps to explain the Church.
The baptized all form one body and the good of each is shared by all. "Because Christ (the Church's most important member) is the head, his riches are given to all the members through the sacraments" (St. Thomas Aquinas).
The Church has all her riches in a "common fund." Her two-fold communion is both "in holy things" and "among holy persons." "God's holy gifts for God's holy people" (Elevation Proclamation in Eastern liturgies).
Five Communions (949-953)
The disciples "devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and fellowship, to the breaking of the bread, and the prayers" (Acts 2:42).
There are five Communions:
Communion in the faith - This faith of the Church was received from the apostles.
Communion of the sacraments - Sacraments, especially Baptism, link all the faithful to each other and to Christ. The word "communion" "is especially "suited for the Eucharist which brings about this communion" (Roman Catechism).
Communion of charisms - These are "manifestations given by the Spirit for the common good" (1 Cor 12:7).
Communion of common goods - Whatever a Christian has is really possessed in common with everyone else.
Communion in charity - "If one members suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together" (1 Cor 12:26).
Peace and blessings!
To win at Bingo? How can praying to a dead human or a statue be the same as asking your pastor or friend to pray for you? It doesn't compute.
These sort of practices are definitely against bible teachings and a form of idolatry. Pixie said what does it matter? Again, another what does it matter. It matters because Catholic is supposed to be a Christian religion. Christian religions follow the teachings of Christ Jesus as put forth in the bible. I am a Christian, so these practices make a mockery of the Christian faith. It's fine if the Catholic Church wants to continue these practices, just don't call yourself Christian. Christians worship one God.
Praying to anyone else, other than God (Father, Son or Holy Spirit) is idolatry.
As such, they are also sinless, and we're not.
They have the power to personally approach the very throne of God with their requests, and we don't.
Mary and the saints have already been completely perfected by God's grace, and we haven't yet.
Mary also happens to be Jesus' very own mother, and many of the other saints are also Jesus' "blood" relatives.
Now ... who do you think has more "clout" with the Almighty ... we sinners ... or those guys?
There is no one home in the grave of a saint. If you pray to a statue,,you are praying to an idol..and that is forbidden by God...Ask Jesus to pray for you,,he is your go between,,,not dead people....
The Bible says Christ is our intercessor and High Priest.
The dead are dead. They can't help you.
Worth repeating because of what I am reading.
Christ is our intercessor, you are still praying to God Almighty.
There is not one scripture that points to any idea that we should pray to anyone other than the Lord God, Himself.
