A tarot reader I saw face to face told me that as the client held the crystal ball the Reader will secretly look at the clients had and be reading the hands really is this true?Perhaps this is the way that this particular Tarot reader functioned. There are many who work in the Psychic/witch/Gypsy field that are frauds and do not use the technique that they proclaim for their discernment of the future events of their clients. Using the crystal ball is a form of scrying and takes natural abilities as well as training to interpret the images that one may perceive with in the crystal itself. It can be done quite accurately. However I have never met anyone who has this particular skill and I believe that often this sort of reading is more for show that for accuracy. Peace&Love be with you...~M~This may be one trick that those "fortune tellers" use, sure. And mind you, I don't believe in most "fortune tellers" - most are not really psychic and are well versed in reading facial expressions and body language.
But for real, gazing into a crystal ball is one method of scrying. It doesn't work well for me - I use the black scrying mirror. Scrying is one of many forms of divination (like tarot is, or tea leaf reading, palm reading, dowsing, etc.)

I hope this helpsWell yes on certain grounds. Some psychics can see into crystal balls. Some people that are not psychics can see into crystal balls. Really the sad truth is that most of the time it is just a vision of what you deep down want, or something deep down you don't want. Craft and paganism is very difficult to understand and the hardest part is to understand that some people fake it and you believe it. Best bet if you want the truth go to a traditional witch or a Wiccan and ask them to read your astral check. No I do not mean horoscopes, some and most Wiccans and traditional witches can read your future and can do astral checks on you. Well, crystal balls are only one of the many things used for scrying. However, it's not the ball doing it, it's the person who's scrying.
The ball is there to make things clearer and bring them to light. It's similar to that thing where people hold sticks and walk around a field or something, looking for water. The sticks twitch (apparently) when they're above water, but the sticks themselves don't know. It's the person. They can sense the water underneath with their own powers, but the sticks just bring this subconscious thought to the surface.
The crystal ball does the same thing.Reading a crystal ball is similar to relaxing in front of the fireplace. You allow thoughts to flicker in and out as you gaze and hopefully, an answer to the question will appear. This is true crystal ball reading, however, if that particular tarot reader uses a trick, then they aren't really reading the crystal ball now, are they? Not all crystal ball readers "cheat". Chances are, most Tarot readers, and "psychics", are phonies that are just in it for the moolah, so to speak. So, I'd take anything a "psychic" or "reader" says with a grain of salt, and view it as nothing more than a waste of money.
Using a Crystal Ball is a method of "scrying", and much like the "Black Mirror", both are methods of divination. Also, scrying bowls and pendulums are used for this very purpose.
If I were you, I'd save your $$$ and learn to do your own readings. Nothing is more powerful, or effective, than learning this on your own, and subsequently, doing your own readings/scrying/divination.
